[30 Day Drawing Challenge] Day 04: Favorite Place
The favorite place of each person could be from a Little space at a room to even the world itself, is the place where you're totally comfortable or the palce where you like to be the most.
Kim choose a Candy shop, with shelves filled with different candies, even I like Candy stores, they have a delicious smell...
I think the one in there is she, ready to want to take all the candies home.
On the other hand, Diana choose Puerto Vallarta's seawall and painted a beautiful sunset with the quiet sea. I think she took the arcs because, even when the seawall has changed a lot lately, is a very iconic monument which is still standing, even after Hurricane Kenna. When I just received this pic was very funny, you'll see why:
That's right, we choose the same place, even when I'm not talking only about the seawall but the city itself, I lived there about 20 years, I know how to go from place to another, I know zones, and love the lifestyle they have, relaxed and quiet. Wanna go vacations soon!

[30 Day Drawing Challenge] Day 03: Favorite Food
Here I am... this is the Day 3 and the Favorite Food.
This is a complicated theme for me, I don't really know what I love to eat the most, so I drew a pic with some of the dishes I like: Hamburguer, fried fish, pepperoni and ham pizza, hot dogs, french fries, hot cakes and pozole.
And.. I'm hungry now so I'll go to look for food or so...
--------------------------------------------
Kimberly had chosen the steamed bread as her fave food, is a kind of bao (baozi) or nikuman from China and Japan respectively, which arrive to her city trough anime conventions, and are filled with chocolate.
I think is a very nice pic, the bread looks very round.
Diana's fave food is spaghetti! She loves pasta.
In the pic you can see the pasta with sauce and meatballs.
Delicious!

[30 Day Drawing Challenge] Day 02: Favorite Animal
Today we had to draw our favorite animal.
Kim:
I like that the bunny has a carrot and the baby panda has a bottle. The words are so colored and the cat has a fluffly tail, just like Bashir; the bunny has a fluffy tail too.
---------------------------------
Diana:
Well, mi favorite animal are the pandicorn and the unicorn, and so the pandicorns are black and withe, they takes baths in the rainbow's vomit of the unicorns with the hope of get any color some day :') they are so cute, beautiful and adorables :3 and with their superpowers can save the world but they are invisibles and people who don't believe on them can't see'em :D THAT'S WHY I LOVE THESE ANIMALS.
Diana's pic has a lot of color, the rainbow was very well managed. In general is a very clean and cute pic. May be the unicorn has the ear a Little small but it's ok, you don't even notice.
---------------------------------
My favorite animal is the pig, I call it "cuinito". Now you might say I'm insane or so but I think cuinitos are cute when babys and when grow up you can eat them x)
Ok, that didn't sound good... However, pigs are cute but no soft, also are like babys, some are really cute and others are just babys >.>
On the pic is also Bashir. I'm not a Cat person, however Bashir is my favorite cat and I drew him because Mey asked for it, she assured that my fav animals are cats. They're not. But I must insist, Bashir is one of a kind.
Kim:
I like the panda baby because is cute and fluffy, it's black and withe, two colors that can combine with EVERYTHING *0*. I like the cat because is cute and reminds me to you Irmita. I like bunny A.K.A. "Jojonito" because is furry and has a cute and sepsi style *-* and also like it because reminds me to Diana *-*

[30 Day Drawing Challenge] Day 01 - Yourself
Well, here are the pics of this first day of challenge. I'm so happy and excited!
As I already said, Mey took the Photo Challenege, so you can go take a look to her first day at El Palacio del Silencio.
There was a confussion with the date in Diana and Kim's pics, I guess the last days before vacations are affecting them, even so their pics are so cute!

| Kimberly |
I love she drew the sun so cool with sunglasses and stuff, the fleecy cloud, grass and hearts. Plus her hair is like a dark cloud without fixing.
![]() |
| Diana |
It has details such as a necklace, a bracelet and a Little backpack. I've to say that she drew her hands, that's immportant.
As you can see, she's about to have vacations.

My pic is the idea I have of myself as a married woman, I have a carrer, I'm a profesional, work for the Fishing Clubs at Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas and I'm member of the creatives collective Mercenarios de DIOS in which I'va been part of great proyects such as El Investigador, plus I have had the opportunity to make the layout for two volumes of Planes B, retrofuturistic anthologies.
I used to have my hair to the shoulders but when I was drawing I noticed that it has grew a lot, which is good but make me feel is time to make a new style. I'll wait a Little.
The last El Investigador's issue was so hard that, as a "divine signal", I decided to write the phrase on the pic.

Editor's Journal (Day 5) Preparing the anniversary issue.
A long time not writing over here. Whatever. I've been having a weird schedule, sleeping during day and trying to focus during night (no success). So, now, before I go to bed, decided to talk to you a little:
It's February, which means this month we prepare the Anniversary issue for El Investigador, in order to release it on March 1st. I've been translating, from here to there, plus housekeeping and working on the job that pays the cigarettes. I'm so stressed, and a few hours ago I realized that I'm not exactly what I'd love to, I haven't wrote stories as I used to, haven't drew, painted, or making layouts... I feel as if I'm loosing a bit of myself. So, in order to dismiss that weird feeling I don't like, decided to take the time to draw something, to learn a little and to write a scene of one old story, so, now, this is what I drew:
Cute, uh? Yeah, again that's me, this time with long hair, since February 2011 my hair has grown, I'm missing go to the sylist to cut my hair again, but have to wait a little more... If I can...
In that pic I look kind of annoyed, I guess; I'm stressed, it's anxiety because of the anniversary of El Investigador, and some more things... Hope everything goes well. And, talking about that, I just haven't had any idea of what to do for the comic strip, it's important but I'm blocked out, so if can't think on anything in the next 24 hours, I'll take the idea of the "Party time" that said the Boss.
P.S.
I'm not feeling the Christmas spirit.... maybe I'm sick.

Editor's Jorunal (Day 4)
So here I am in another post for Editor's Journal. Is Deadline right now and far away I am from my aim to read and correct the submissions, instead I've been having an artistic moment. Tipical, when you have something really important to do is the same moment when your muse calls you to paint a masterpiece. But, hey! I really tried not to pay attention and do my work as editor. I couldn't.
You must know that I have a hidden blog i which use to write some stories I 've been developing since I was in high school (uhhhh!), but for one reason or another I just couldn't finish, and now with El Investigador is more than complicated. However, last week I did a make over to the blog, fixing links and clearing points. So then, I though that since I've been having that big desire of drawing something, I could draw the characters, and well, here is a sample of what I've done recently:
So, that's how it looked like after my "great" technique of ink with a pen. After that I was giving color and still am in that process, because I had some appoinments with new costumers, my job, the magazine and, well, the lack of time has been here, that and the fact that I just can't keep calm because of responsibility.
Obviously those are not the final colors, but when I finish I'll let you take a look. Now I've got to go working on my editor's job, and for that I'll say good bye with a song I used to love when I was on high school: Mellow Candle by Weiß Kreuz, from the eponymous animation.

Editor's Journal (Day 3)
I do accept I am human and make mistakes. I do accept that some misspellings have infiltrated in El Investigador, and some I just noticed now that we're re-editing in English. Making mistakes in normal, accepting them is something worth of admiration, I think, since there are a lot of people making mistakes and, I don't kno why, simply do not recognize it, don't want to see it even when the stuff is so clear.
"What is this about?" you may ask. Well, Here I am, giving opinión when no one asked me, but I concern since I'm Editor in chief of El Investigador:
The General Director of the magazine usually promotes it on his personal facebook wall. Last year this month the theme was Steamgoth and a picture from that issue was shared:
Well, since then on, Profesor Heitmann (Javier Darren in the picture) felt ofended and make false accusations. The mess is too long, but is that basically, he say that we cutted the article about Steamgoth, that we rejected the one dedicated to Alesteir Crowley and also he has offended to everyone who has contributed to El Investigador, from our columnists to external contributors the same, something I can't allow since the entire team has been very professional and committed all the time.
Now, here's my version of the story in a summary of the mails Profesor Heitmann exchanged with me. The translation is below the picture:
Since then I didn't have any news abput Profesor Heitmann untill this mess began. He didn't say "I don't want to continue" nor even an excuse was given, nothing but a tumbleweed.
If you'd like to read the entire conversation Profesor Heitmann and El Investigador's General Director are having on facebook, follow this link (it's in Spanish but there's always Google Translate).
If you want further information about how we met Profesor Heitmann, how we accepted his submission and many details more, even if you would like to receive the original file Profesor Heitmann sent to me, the one that apperas as an attachment in the picture above and the one about Steamgoth, I will send them to you so the judgement is yours. I have nothing to hide.

Negr O Inmunsapa: "Steamgoth has a darkest point of view abut the environment where Steampunk is developed, including magical or paranormal elements in its plot. Where Steampunk shows a Victorian Era of Science Fiction, Steamgoth does it under the espectrum of horror and fantasy"
Next, as you can see in the picture above, himself shares some related images, and then a comment appears from someone who used to be called "Profesor Heitmann" who contributed with us in October 2011 (El Investigador 8 - Steamgoth), with an introduction article. From then on the mess began...
Javier Darren: Uy, Negro, the article I wrote in "El Investigador" about Steamgoth!! That's my favorite side and the one I better met in Germany... Let's see if I do contribute again with your great magazine... XDNegr O Inmunsapa: Yes, Javier, I also remember you wrote a very long article about Alesteir Crowley (2500 words, which is the same to 5 pages when in that time our columnists used to have 2 and a half) and we asked you to cut it or make the arranges to publish it in 4 issues. You didn't want and disappeared without saying anything else, not even said thank you. Do you remember?
Javier Darren: mmm... yes, of course I remember, I remember that you didn't told me about the limit of lines, cutted the article as you wished to, afeter several days looking for information to write it, also, without telling me you just cutted the article saying it was too long when if you're looking for contributors the logic thing is you want material and do not reject it as you did with mine. You say I didn't said thank you...ah so I had to say thank you because of working in an article for you magazine without a paymet and just for the love to the art and for, then, you reject it? Well as we say here in Spain... If you want "I'm the whore and we can use my bed". However, I have nothing else to say about it, I wish you luck in your proyect.

October 18th 2011
Greetings comrades,
Here I attach the article about Alesteir Crowley in a Word file. I wish you like it, I've tried to make it as nice as I can, the result is a little long but I think it might be that way, since every single paragraph is vital to understand very well the life of this big personality of the Ocultism.
Attached too the zip file with the pictures I'd like to include with the article. That's all.
Regards
Profesor Heitmann
October 18th 2011Dear Profesor Heitmann
Talking about a personality such as Alesteir Crowley is, of course, a very long work, there are a lot of things to say and explain about him, however, I am really sorry to tell you that, even it is interesting, your article is excessively long and have to ask you to cut it 800 words long, the pictures and illustrations you sent are great, Mr. Xpk is going to have a big repertory to choose, the only thing is to fix the text, please.
I do understand is going to be a very complited work, but if you don't really want to cut it, then I ask you to fix it for four issues, this one we really need of 800 words top, and next can be 1200 each one. We'll be waiting for the edited file tomorrow 21:00hrs GMT-6.
In the future I really beg you to limitate your contributions to a maximum of 1200 words, but this time we really need 800 because of space.
Taking advantage of this letter, I want to ask you to, in case you decide to cut the article, think about what you're going to submit for December and January's issues which we have to have for the month, that's the only way we can have Winter Vacations.
I'm relly sorry about giving this kind of news but that's my job xD, don't be stressed too much, be happy, eat fruits and vegetables and send me your edited article :)
Regards from this side of the stars
October 19th 2011Greetings Lady Von Marmalade and Negr O Inmunsapa:
I do understand very well your requirement, and even when, being sincere, I don't like the idea of dividing the article about the figure of Alesteir Crowley, as I said, it is necesary to understand and explore everything my article have to say in order to have a general vision about such a remarkable occultist (and taking on count there are a lot of things I didn't say), I see myself in the obbligation to divide the article in several parts, since the option of cut it down is one I don't think could be acceptable, since I already said, I reduced it so much concentrating a minimum of information and data that will result as enjoyable as possible to the reader, and if I delete any part of them, the article will loose the sense. Said that, I will send you the one of three parts of the article, if you like since four is kind of excesive to me, but as you prefer.
On the other hand, I didn't know about this limitation of 800 or 1200 words for each article, but don't worry, I will take it on count for future contributions.
Without anything else to say, I send you the first part of the article you can title like that, as a first part. I think that don't exceed tha 800 words, but if it does, you can delete the part you consider convenient, your have my permission to do it.
Regards
Professor Heitmann
Nocturne soldier of Legión XIII
October 19th 2011I'm sorry, I didn't attach the file. Here it is.
December 7th 2011Dear Profesor Heitmann
From the Editor's office we write to you to say hello and to ask you abput your article about Alesteir Crowley which the first part was already published in our 10th issue and need to know if there's going to be a second part before the next friday 9th.
I want to remind you that we're going on vacation and won't come back until January.
I'll be waiting for your answer as soon as possible.
Regards from this side of the stars.

Editor's Journal (Day 2)
This sunday has been a very busy day. First, some housework and then to the bati-office to work in the design of this month for the El Investigador's blogs. Since last night had the idea: I wanted a faery and hole complicated animation but, well, step by step I decided to change it doing it easily, couldn't ask for so much.
The day was very cloudy and soon started to rain cats and dogs. Meanwhile, I was visualizing the idea of how the banner should be, started to draw and during the process of definition and ink, the light shut down. Lucky me it was back a few minutes later.
The pic before becoming digital was just like this:
Next step was to give it a shower of digital color, to define what have to be defined and to correct what have to be corrected. After a while, the result is the one that can be seen in El Investigador's blog:

So then, why a faery? and why is it green? I'm sure "Absinthe" would sound familiar to you.
By the way, can help to mention that this month in El Investigador, we have an interview with a VERY important personality of Steampunk. I hope we can translate it soon in order to let you, who do not speak spanish, to know what is this about.
So, now, time to hit and run! Got to go to watch that old series, the one that make me thing on role playing game Aberrant... yeah, NBC's Heroes.

Editor's Journal (Day 1)
Well, this is an experimental experiment (yes, it was on purpouse), this is not going to be every single day but I'll try to write as much as I can about how's the life in the office, so then, let's begin:
Day 1
You may know I have a lot of things to do during the day, one is my online job (the one that pays the bills for now), and that's the main reason to wake up not so late every day in order to answer mails, submit works and those employee's stuff.
Today, far of mounting photograph on the new memberships, I was just listening to music and say "yes, sir" to my immediate boss, if I can call her like that. Later, after being sure of have received my pay, said "good bye" and went to the supermarket with my husband.
A few minutes later went to the job I love the most, being Editor-in-Chief of El Investigador.
Have been a lot of work at the office and our General Director , subtly, reminds me that I have a lot of paperwork to do.
In the night, after an attempt to go out with my husband, our translator submitted some documents just in time. Now I have to read the translations and try to reduce the pile of paperwork that's by my side reminding me this month's deadline is coming up in five days...

Von Marmalade: "Of course we'll have one!"

An Entire Country?
This time I just want to share with you a fragment of the leading article of "El Investigador" (Issue 18 - August 2012)
What is this about? Well, the administrator of the Facebook's group called "Steampunk México" have been having a very deplorable behavior with a lot of people, people who do not agree with them in whichever way, it might happen in any group but when international personalities are target of this behavior, I want to know if there is someone in the world safe, I mean, someone who still thinks him/herself, someone who does not agree with a comment, a photo, an opinion...
Fortunately those 4 individuals are not Mexico.
And I want to say something else, the flag they are using as their logo was designed by Mr. Xpk (gorgonzola666) - the one who makes the El Investigador's editorial design and the general image of Mercenarios de DIOS-, and that group of administrators are not recognizing the rights.
I feel so ashamed whenever see people who disrespect the work of everyone else, not only not recognizing but insulting the effort and dedication that everyone put in their creation, plus assaulting and taking the role of dictators. And I feel so embarrassed to know that those individuals are from my own country, Mexico, and they also degrade the work of international personalities. But I must admit that three or four persons are NOT a country and, if they take the time to insult, it's clear that either represent that country, even less if they come from another country to make trouble just because people can't stand them in their own.

Summary of the last month
Well, someone asked me about my life during this time that I haven updated the blog... the truth is I've been doing a lot of things this last month and have been a chaotic/disastrous time, but also filled with fun.
Summary: Mr. Xpk got married last month so everybody who works on El Investigador had to hurry up in order to finnish everything before our editorial designer took his vacations to go to his honeymoon. After that, I have a freelance work about a book and a dossier which I haven't finished yet and deadline's April 20th. Even with that I took the risk to go on spring vacations to meet with the Boss, it was an incredible trip. Now I'm back and have a lot of paperwork, deadlines coming up around the corner and less time in front of computer. Events in my job are really close and make everything harder, but I think it positive and for sure things will be easier.
However, I'm looking forward to July!

1st Anniversary of El Investigador
Happy first anniversary to "El Investigador" and to all the Merceanries who works a lot every month to reach the deadline without dying.
This is kind of New Year...
I remember that last year was figthing against the Boss, I just didin't want to write anything, word are not exactly the best thing I do, as you've been noticed here, I just can't update too much. Well, in the end I wrote the article about vampires in Sabine and the page of "In The File", and also the thing about Wells Fargo.
I remember that watched a documental on Discovery Channel, February 9th (2011), I just had a very bad year and that day cutted my hair after kind of 10 years letting it go long, it was a big change but also was time to stop crying like a baby, however I saw the entire documental (ok, I must conffes I was a little sleeppy so I watched it again on the internet), in order to write the uchronia "European Assassins arrives to our peaceful Sabine?", for the first issue of the first Retrofuturism themed Magazine in Spanish.
Today, a year ago to have been released that first issue, I thank to my entire past because all that made me become what I am now, all that made me look for role playing games in my country, and that made me find El Cuenta Cuentos (The Tales Teller). He give me his proyect called "Retrofuturism: 1875" and a graphic, kind of a brochure "The Rapido of Sabine", there is where everything begun, there was born the legendary "What if we make a magazine?"

El Investigador 1st Anniversary: Celebrate with us at the Spanish-Anglo Festival!
The #SteampunkChat is a reunion held each Friday on Twitter to develop topics and ask opinion to steampunks, as a result we have very enjoyable chats where you can learn a lot. The downside is that has been always in English so people who don't speaks the language just stay away. Well, this time we're going to turn it upside down!
Beginning with the celebrations of the first Anniversary of El Investigador, the retro-futurism themed magazine Spanish-language, the only one in Spanish and the only one monthly (untill now) -the same that I'm proud of being its Chief Editor-, Jhameia, blogmistress from Silver Goggles, gave us the space to carry out the first #SteampunkChat in two languages, so don't worry if you don't talk any Spanish because you are free to give your opinion in English too, here we'll do the rest.
Hosts:
@Jhameia: From Silver Goggles blog, dedicated to promotion of racial diversity within Steampunk.
@LiaKeyes: Writer of magic, mistery and mayhem for teens.
@MattDelman: Editor, co-admin of #SteampunkChat
By the way, I'm glad to tell you that I'll be as a co-hostess (@VonMarmalade) so as El Chapulín Colorado said: "¡síganme los buenos!" (Follow me the good ones!")
From 20:00 to 21:00hrs, Mexico City's Time Zone, (GMT-6).
6pm PST / 9pm EST at USA
At Twitter, using hashtag #SteampunkChat
You can follow the messages by clicking here.
Oh! Don't forget that you can take a look to El Investigador at Mercenarios de DIOS blog, and look for us on Facebook by clicking here. Help us to reach 365 "likes" befor March 1st!

Dieselpunk Encyclopedia by Larry Amyett and Lord K
News! Well, it supposed that I'd to wait, but I couldn't, so here it is, direct from the The Gatehouse Blog:
Remember, I wrote about the “dieselpunk” entry at Wikipedia being deleted, again, last month without proper review. It isn’t the first time it’s happened. Apparently, dieselpunk isn’t “relevant” enough to require its own Wikipedia page. Then, what else can I say? What're you waiting for?!
We begged to differ and so did Larry Amyett and Lord K, two prominent dieselpunks who have both been published in the Gatehouse Gazette and are members of Tomy Wilson’s Dieselpunks community. In true dieselpunk spirit, they set up a Dieselpunk Encyclopedia of their own.
It salvages parts from Wikipedia‘s “dieselpunk” page from before it was removed and I’m sure they can use help expanding it, so don’t hesitate to leave a comment there and volunteer your services!

The Flu
Autum. Winter's almost here, and... it happened, yes I have the flu, you know how it feels, headache, bone pain, fever, fatigue and things like that...winter is not helping, either the A/A at one of my part-time jobs.
As you know, the time is still passing by so I've to work, hunting pictures, checking spelling in texts, sorting, packing, trying to draw the "Making of..." comic and to write the review I have to.
But this is not that bad, the flu makes me feel kind of distracted, more than usually, so I have found a lot of things, things that I usually do not see, events, articles, celebrities and step by step I thing about next El Investigador's issues.
By the way, if someone out there wants to contribute with us, just send an e-mail:
A-a-achoooooo! Got to go to sleep...
